STELLARIX Senegal is
expanding the capacity of its Data Center to meet growing demand for cloud
services, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure in Senegal
and across Africa.
The expansion is intended to
increase hosting capacity for companies and critical workloads while supporting
the development of sovereign Cloud services and AI applications.
STELLARIX said the move is
aimed at anticipating growing demand for reliable and sovereign data and
infrastructure as the digital transformation of Senegal and Africa accelerates.
The additional capacity will
also contribute to strengthening infrastructure resilience and digital
sovereignty while supporting the growth of digital services and AI adoption.
The company said the
expansion was carried out with contributions from Snef, SERTEM GROUPE and Kent
Data Centres.
STELLARIX said the
development will enable it to support more companies and critical workloads,
while strengthening hosting capacities in Senegal and Africa and supporting the
development of the sovereign Cloud and AI use cases.
The company’s Senegal
operation includes a data centre in Diamniadio, which STELLARIX says is
certified Tier III Design & Facility and PCI-DSS, with locally hosted data
designed to support digital sovereignty and secure infrastructure.
The expansion comes as
Senegal’s digital ecosystem places increasing emphasis on locally hosted
infrastructure, cloud services and technologies that can support emerging AI
workloads.
STELLARIX said the expansion
represents a further step towards providing “More capacity. More resilience.
More sovereignty to support digital growth and AI.”
