Helios Towers DRC is
partnering with the Faculty of Polytechnics at the University of Kinshasa,
through the Helios Towers School of Excellence, to identify, train and support
young talent and recent graduates, the company said.
The partnership will provide
internships, technical exposure, applied research focused on industry
challenges, innovation projects and professional development.
The first cohort of
graduates from the most recent academic year has now been selected for training
at Helios Towers' Technical and Innovation Centre. The company said this will
help strengthen the local talent pipeline and support the evolving workforce
needs of its maintenance partners.
The faculty is home to 584
students, including 112 women, studying civil, electrical, mechanical and
computer engineering. Its 19 equipped laboratories support learning, research
and innovation.
"The DRC's digital
future will be built by talented people with the skills, ideas and ambition to
shape what comes next," the company said.
"By investing in
skills, innovation and opportunity, we are helping equip the people who will
shape the DRC's connected future," it added.
The company also commended
Colard Nkole Tshiyoyo, Maixent Bekangba, Afi Ghislaine Kolokey, Francis Kazadi
Mbenga, Jeannette Tambwe and all colleagues whose commitment and collaboration
helped bring the initiative to life.
