The African Advanced Level
Telecommunications Institute (AFRALTI) has held discussions with Vodacom
Tanzania to explore institutional collaboration in professional development,
digital skills and information and communications technology (ICT) capacity building.
AFRALTI Director and Chief
Executive Officer William Baraza, accompanied by the institute’s Head of
Training, Jonathan Mwakijele, met with Sorayya Shareef of Vodacom Tanzania to
discuss opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the meeting, the
AFRALTI team presented an overview of its professional training and
capacity-building programmes, delivered through in-person and virtual
modalities, as well as its work supporting regional institutions and
organisations in strengthening ICT capacity across Africa.
The discussions also
examined the potential for a more structured partnership between the two
organisations, with a focus on professional development, digital skills and ICT
capacity building.
The engagement provided an
opportunity to exchange perspectives on institutional partnerships and models
for long-term collaboration.
As an ITU Academy Training
Centre, AFRALTI said it remained committed to developing strategic partnerships
with industry and regional stakeholders to strengthen human capital,
institutional capacity and the skills needed for Africa’s evolving digital economy.
The institute said it looked
forward to continued engagement with Vodacom Tanzania and exploring
opportunities for future collaboration.
