Visa has partnered with ETTA
Solutions PLC to expand digital payment acceptance across Ethiopia, aiming to
help more businesses participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
The collaboration combines
Visa’s global payments expertise with the local market knowledge and merchant
reach of Zoorya.et, according to Yared Endale, Visa’s Head of Eastern Africa
and Country Manager for Ethiopia.
In a LinkedIn post
announcing the partnership, Endale said the collaboration would focus on making
digital payments more secure, reliable and accessible to businesses.
“At the heart of this
collaboration are the merchants who drive Ethiopia’s economy every day,” Endale
said. “By making digital payments more secure, reliable, and accessible, we can
help businesses unlock new opportunities for growth and financial inclusion.”
He added that meaningful
progress depended on cooperation among industry leaders, fintech companies,
financial institutions and technology providers.
“We are proud to partner
with ETTA Solutions PLC and look forward to contributing to Ethiopia’s digital
future,” Endale said.
The partnership is intended
to support broader digital payment adoption and financial inclusion by helping
businesses access payment solutions that can strengthen their participation in
Ethiopia’s expanding digital economy.
