The Uganda Institute of
Information and Communications Technology (UICT) has extended congratulations
to the newly appointed Ministers in Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and National
Guidance following their assumption of office.
UICT congratulated Hon.
Justine Kasule Lumumba, Hon. Yorke Odria Alioni, and Hon. Joyce Nabbosa
Ssebugwawo, expressing confidence in their ability to advance Uganda’s digital
transformation agenda through their leadership and experience in public service.
The institute noted that the
incoming leadership is expected to accelerate digital technology adoption,
strengthen national digital skills development, and support Uganda’s broader
vision of a digitally empowered economy.
UICT also paid tribute to
the outgoing ministers, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi and Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga,
commending them for their leadership and contributions over the past five
years. The institute stated that their tenure laid a strong foundation for continued
growth in Uganda’s ICT sector and digital development initiatives.
As a key institution in ICT
training and capacity building, UICT reaffirmed its commitment to supporting
the Ministry in promoting innovation, digital inclusion, and sustainable
digital transformation across the country.
The institute emphasized its
readiness to collaborate with the new leadership to further strengthen Uganda’s
digital ecosystem and enhance skills development for the evolving technology
landscape.
