Telecom Egypt,
in partnership with the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and the
Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, has launched the
first Cybersecurity Innovation Lab under the WE INNOVATE STAR initiative.
The lab is
designed to provide an environment where ideas can be transformed into
prototypes, research can evolve into practical solutions, and talent can
contribute to addressing real cybersecurity challenges.
Telecom Egypt
Managing Director and CEO Tamer El Mahdi said innovation was no longer a choice
but the foundation of sustainable growth, national resilience, and
technological leadership. He added that empowering innovators, researchers, and
entrepreneurs was essential to building a stronger digital economy and
advancing Egypt's position as a regional hub for technology and cybersecurity
innovation.
The lab
represents a platform where innovation moves from concept to impact, according
to El Mahdi. Further details on the lab's programmes and access for innovators
were not immediately disclosed.
