SONATEL
has celebrated the graduation of 230 young people from the 7th cohort of the
Orange Digital Center’s School of Code, marking a significant milestone in
efforts to expand digital skills and improve youth employability in Senegal.
The
graduation ceremony represents more than an academic achievement, reflecting a
broader national and institutional commitment to digital inclusion, skills
development, and the creation of sustainable opportunities for young people
across the country.
The
programme brought together participants from diverse regions and backgrounds,
equipping them with practical coding and digital competencies designed to
prepare them for careers and entrepreneurial pathways within the growing
digital economy.
According
to SONATEL, the new graduates now join a wider network of trained digital
talents capable of contributing meaningfully to Senegal’s technological
transformation and broader development agenda.
The
initiative is implemented through the Orange Digital Center in collaboration
with the Ministry of Employment and Vocational and Technical Training,
underscoring the importance of multi-stakeholder partnerships in building a
future-ready workforce.
SONATEL
also acknowledged the contributions of trainers, coaches, families, and
partners who supported the programme, as well as the sponsorship of Mamadou
Diagna Ndiaye, President of the Organising Committee of the Youth Olympic Games
Dakar 2026, whose commitment to youth development aligns with the values of the
initiative.
The
company reaffirmed its commitment to expanding digital access and strengthening
youth empowerment initiatives as part of its broader strategy to support
Senegal’s digital transformation.
