The
Technopolis Development Authority participated in the Mastercard Foundation
Scholars Entrepreneurship Fund (SEF) 2.0 Graduation and Award Ceremony at the
United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa), reaffirming its
commitment to supporting innovation and entrepreneurship among young Africans.
Held
under the theme, "Ideas to
Impact: Celebrating Entrepreneurial Excellence and Innovation,"
the event brought together university leadership, representatives from the
Mastercard Foundation, mentors, industry leaders, development partners and
other stakeholders to celebrate scholars who successfully transformed
innovative ideas into promising business ventures through the SEF 2.0
Programme.
The
Technopolis Development Authority was represented by Agatha Kakui, Manager for
Investor Facilitation and One Stop Shop, who joined participants in recognizing
the achievements of the graduating scholars and award recipients.
The
ceremony highlighted the role of entrepreneurship, innovation and cross-sector
collaboration in equipping young people with the skills, networks and resources
needed to establish sustainable enterprises that contribute to economic growth
and social development across Africa.
Organizers
noted that the SEF 2.0 Programme has helped participants develop
entrepreneurial solutions capable of addressing real-world challenges while
creating employment opportunities and fostering innovation-driven businesses.
The
event also underscored the importance of partnerships between educational
institutions, development organizations, government agencies and the private
sector in nurturing the next generation of African entrepreneurs.
The
Technopolis Development Authority congratulated the graduates and award
recipients, expressing confidence that their ventures will contribute to
Africa's innovation ecosystem and support the continent's long-term economic
transformation through entrepreneurship.
