MTN Benin has completed the
mid-term evaluation phase of its MTN Innovation Lab, with 12 startups
presenting their solutions after undergoing 10 weeks of pre-incubation aimed at
strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.
The pitch session brought
together a panel of judges who assessed the startups on the strength of their
innovations, business vision and the potential impact of their solutions.
The participating startups
showcased ideas developed during the pre-incubation programme, highlighting the
progress made through intensive mentoring, skills development and business
support provided by the MTN Innovation Lab.
According to MTN Benin, the
mid-term evaluation marks an important milestone in the programme as it narrows
the field ahead of the final selection process.
Five startups will
ultimately be selected to join the next phase of the initiative, where they
will receive further incubation support to refine their products, strengthen
their business models and prepare for market growth.
MTN Benin said the
Innovation Lab reflects the company's commitment to supporting the country's
innovation ecosystem by empowering entrepreneurs to develop technology-driven
solutions that address local challenges.
The telecommunications
operator added that it will continue investing in startup development as part
of its broader strategy to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship,
with the final selection of the five startups expected in the coming days.
