The National ICT Innovation
Hub has officially admitted 83 innovators into the fourth cohort of the
UJ-Connect Entrepreneurship, Training and Mentorship (ETM) Programme, an
initiative aimed at supporting technology entrepreneurship and innovation in
Uganda.
The programme is being
implemented under the Uganda ICT Industry Promotion Project through a
partnership involving the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, the Japan
International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Uganda Institute of Information
and Communications Technology (UICT).
The initiative is designed
to equip aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs with the technical skills,
business development knowledge, mentorship and industry exposure required to
transform innovative ideas into sustainable technology businesses.
The fourth cohort will
participate in a structured programme that combines entrepreneurship training
with practical mentorship to strengthen the capacity of Uganda's growing
innovation ecosystem.
Organisers said the
programme plays an important role in nurturing technology-driven solutions
capable of addressing local challenges while contributing to the country's
digital transformation agenda and economic development.
The National ICT Innovation
Hub expressed confidence that the new cohort will develop innovative products
and services that support Uganda's expanding digital economy and create new
opportunities for entrepreneurship and job creation.
