The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has signed an agreement with the Enugu State Government for the operational lease of the NCC Digital Industrial Park and NCC Learning Centre in Enugu, marking another step in efforts to strengthen digital infrastructure and innovation in Nigeria.

The agreement was witnessed by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, alongside members of the Commission's Board and Management during a visit to Enugu State.

The partnership is expected to facilitate the operationalisation of the Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre, providing a platform to support innovation, digital entrepreneurship, skills development, and technology-driven economic growth within the state and beyond.

As part of the visit, the NCC delegation toured the Enugu Smart School Initiative, where digital technologies are being integrated into classroom teaching and learning to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for the digital economy.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Commission to assess the implementation of technology-enabled education initiatives designed to prepare young Nigerians for future opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and other digital disciplines.

The NCC said the agreement with the Enugu State Government aligns with its broader commitment to expanding digital inclusion, promoting innovation, and developing the human capital needed to support Nigeria's ongoing digital transformation.
