Ethiopia’s Minister of
Justice and Ethiopost Board Chairperson, Hanna Arayaselassie, has visited the
Ethiopian National Postal Museum following its relocation to the historic Arada
Post Office, where it was officially inaugurated on October 9.
Upon her arrival, Hanna was
welcomed by Ethiopost’s senior management team before touring the museum’s
collection of rare stamps and historical artefacts documenting the country’s
postal history.
The exhibits, which had been
preserved at Ethiopost’s head office for the past 50 years, are now displayed
at the newly renovated and modernised Arada Post Office.
Hanna expressed her delight
at the museum’s historical and heritage displays, emphasising the institution’s
role in preserving and passing down Ethiopia’s postal history and heritage to
future generations.
She also called on all
stakeholders involved in the museum’s development to contribute to its
promotion, with the aim of making it a destination for all segments of society.
The relocation places
Ethiopia’s postal heritage in a historic postal facility, providing a dedicated
space for visitors to explore the country’s long postal journey through stamps
and other historical artefacts.
