Côte d’Ivoire’s Minister of
Digital Transition and Technological Innovation, Djibril Ouattara, has
appointed Tenon Coulibaly as Technical Adviser in charge of Skills Development,
Sustainable Development and the Circular Economy.
Ouattara announced the
appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying it responds to a priority of the
National Development Plan to make the ecological transition and circular
economy a reality across all sectors, including digital technology.
“Our objective is simple: to
develop an efficient but also sustainable Ivorian digital technology,” Ouattara
said.
Coulibaly is a green
entrepreneur, start-up founder and member of the CI20, an Ivorian start-up
community. According to Ouattara, his experience in these areas will support
the ministry’s efforts to integrate sustainability into its digital development
agenda.
“His mission is to ensure
that our actions in the execution of our acceleration plan are in line with
these sustainability requirements,” the minister said.
Ouattara added that
Coulibaly would also help the ministry better understand the challenges facing
the country’s innovation ecosystem and identify appropriate responses.
