Vodacom Congo has held the
first edition of its Vodacom Impact Forum in the Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC), bringing together Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka, government
representatives and private-sector stakeholders to discuss how digital technology
can drive social transformation, inclusion and sustainable development.
The forum took place at
Vodapark and attracted representatives of the Presidency, including the Agency
for the Development of Digital (ADN) and the National Council for Universal
Health Coverage (CNCSU), as well as national and provincial ministers, members
of parliament, directors of public authorities and representatives from across
the private sector.
The meeting focused on the
role of digital technology in improving lives and creating opportunities for
communities across the country.
“Beyond the exchanges, this
meeting carried a common conviction: digital technology must be a driver of
social transformation, inclusion and sustainable development for the Democratic
Republic of Congo,” Vodacom Congo said.
The company said its
commitment to digital impact spans education, healthcare, the empowerment of
women and young people, and financial inclusion.
“Because connecting is not
enough: it is necessary to create opportunities, strengthen the resilience of
communities and concretely improve the living conditions of Congolese,” the
company said.
Vodacom Congo thanked the
authorities, partners and other participants for contributing to the dialogue
and expressing their willingness to work together towards a more inclusive and
prosperous future.
