Kenya’s Office of the Data
Protection Commissioner (ODPC) is hosting a delegation from Sri Lanka’s Data
Protection Authority for a three-day study visit focused on exchanging
experiences and sharing best practices in data protection regulation.
The delegation is being
hosted by Data Commissioner Immaculate Kassait, with meetings chaired by Senior
Deputy Data Commissioners Festus Musyoki and John Walubengo.
The discussions focus on
compliance, complaints handling, investigations and enforcement, public
awareness, institutional operations and information and communications
technology automation.
The engagement provides a
platform for the two authorities to exchange experiences and share best
practices in regulating data protection.
According to the ODPC, the
visit underscores the importance of cross-border cooperation, mutual learning
and institutional capacity-building in strengthening data protection frameworks
and advancing a shared commitment to protecting personal data in an increasingly
interconnected digital world.
