MTN Group Fintech CEO
Serigne Dioum and MTN MoMo Zambia CEO Komba Malukutila have met Zambia’s
Minister of Finance and National Planning, Dr. Situmbeko Musokotwane, to
discuss the role of digital financial services in advancing the country’s
economic growth.
The meeting brought together
the MTN MoMo leadership team and the minister to discuss how digital financial
inclusion can support national development and strengthen Zambia’s digital
payment ecosystem.
MTN MoMo said mobile money
was more than a convenient way to transact, noting that it empowers businesses,
simplifies everyday payments and opens doors for more Zambians to participate
in the formal financial system.
The company said continued
collaboration with government and key stakeholders remained central to its
commitment to strengthening digital payments and contributing to the country’s
financial development.
The visit by the MTN Group
Fintech CEO further reinforces the company’s commitment to building a more
inclusive digital economy in which every transaction creates an opportunity for
progress.
