Singapore and Indonesia have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation
on cybersecurity strategies and policies, Critical Information Infrastructure
protection, cyber-related information sharing and cybersecurity standards for
organisations and Internet of Things devices.
The agreement was signed by
the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) Chief Executive, Ms Gwenda Fong,
and Head of Indonesia’s National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), Lieutenant
General (Ret.) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi, on the sidelines of Singapore International
Cyber Week (SICW) 2026.
The MOU is expected to
create further opportunities for the two countries to exchange expertise,
strengthen cybersecurity capabilities and contribute to a more cyber-resilient
region.
During his visit, Lieutenant
General (Ret.) Nugroho Sulistyo Budi also met Singapore’s Minister for Digital
Development and Information, Mrs Josephine Teo, who is also Minister-in-charge
of Cybersecurity and Smart Nation Group.
Both sides reaffirmed their
commitment to strengthening bilateral and ASEAN cybersecurity cooperation and
exchanged views on emerging artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum threats,
cybersecurity regulations and standards, and opportunities for capacity
building and exchanges of best practices.
