Côte d’Ivoire has appointed
Abou Koné as its new Director of Digitalization of the Administration,
according to Digital Transition and Technological Innovation Minister Djibril
Ouattara.
Ouattara announced the
appointment in a LinkedIn post, welcoming Koné, who has returned to Côte
d’Ivoire after more than fifteen years in the United States, where he worked on
technology projects.
His experience includes
digital utilities, digital identity, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence,
areas that align with the country’s digital transformation priorities.
“Abou decided to ‘return
home’ after more than fifteen years in the United States, where he worked on
technology projects, including digital utilities, digital identity,
cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence,” Ouattara said.
The minister said Koné had
led teams and gained practical experience that the country needed to address
its current challenges.
“He has led teams and above
all, he has this experience in the field that we need. Its ‘match’ profile
perfectly with our challenges,” Ouattara said.
He also expressed
satisfaction with Koné’s decision to return to Côte d’Ivoire to serve his
country.
“And what makes me most
happy is his choice to return to Côte d’Ivoire to serve his country,” the
minister said, adding: “Welcome back home! All the best, Abou!”
