Zambia Telecommunications Company (Zamtel) and Varun Beverages Zambia have launched a K10 million nationwide promotional campaign aimed at rewarding consumers while encouraging greater participation in digital platforms.

Dubbed “Zamtel na Pepsi: Peel. Scan. Win,” the campaign will run from 1 August to 30 November 2026 and is expected to reward more than 800,000 customers with instant and weekly prizes.

The promotion allows customers who purchase participating 500ml bottles of Pepsi, Mirinda, and 7UP to participate by peeling the promotional label, scanning the QR code, or dialling *9595# using a Zamtel number for a chance to win a range of prizes.

The rewards include airtime, shopping vouchers, smartphones, laptops, Smart TVs, and motorbikes, providing customers with opportunities to benefit from the partnership between the telecommunications and beverage companies.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Technology and Science, Dr. Brilliant Habeenzu, described the initiative as a practical example of how innovation and strategic partnerships can support Zambia’s digital transformation agenda.

He said the campaign extends beyond a consumer promotion by demonstrating how digital tools can be integrated into everyday activities while supporting the government’s vision of building a modern and inclusive digital economy.

Representing the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Assistant Director Derrick Sikombe, who spoke on behalf of Permanent Secretary Lillian Bwalya, said the partnership highlights the importance of public-private collaboration in driving investment, strengthening local industries, and contributing to economic growth.

Zamtel Chief Executive Officer Jason Mwanza said the campaign represents more than a traditional reward initiative, combining connectivity and consumer engagement to create meaningful digital experiences for customers.

He added that the partnership reflects Zamtel’s continued focus on innovation, customer loyalty, and the development of solutions that provide greater value to its users.

Varun Beverages Zambia Chief Executive Officer Vibhay Singh said the campaign brings together Pepsi’s strong consumer presence and Zamtel’s digital capabilities to create an interactive experience that connects customers with exciting rewards.

Meanwhile, Zambia Association of Manufacturers President Mohammed Umar said the initiative demonstrates the potential of collaboration between manufacturers and service providers to create new market opportunities, strengthen local value chains, and showcase Zambia’s manufacturing capabilities.
