The Governor of the Bank of
Ghana, Dr. Johnson Pandit Asiama, has joined stakeholders at the Ghana Stock
Exchange (GSE) for the official launch of Central Securities Depository (CSD)
investorConnect, a new digital platform aimed at improving access to securities
information and strengthening transparency in Ghana’s capital market.
Launched on September 17,
2026, investorConnect provides investors with digital access to their
securities holdings and transaction history, with identity verification through
the Ghana Card.
The platform is designed to
make it easier for investors to view and verify their ownership of securities
while enhancing convenience, transparency and access to information across the
capital market.
Speaking at the launch, Dr.
Asiama stressed the importance of investor confidence and the ability of
investors to independently verify their ownership and transactions.
“Confidence in a market
rests on precisely that ability,” the Governor stated.
He, however, emphasised that
greater digital access must be accompanied by financial literacy and effective
investor protection. According to the Governor, investorConnect should not only
provide digital access to investment information but also serve as a foundation
for the development of the next generation of investor services.
The Bank of Ghana
congratulated the Central Securities Depository, its Board, Management and
Staff on the milestone and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the
development of a more accessible, inclusive, transparent and vibrant capital
market in Ghana.
