The African Space Agency and
the European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) have signed an
Agreement of Intent aimed at strengthening cooperation, innovation and
partnerships in space and Earth observation.
The agreement was signed by
Dr. Tidiane Ouattara, President of the Council of the African Space Agency and
CEO of the Ivorian Space Agency, and Emmanuel PAJOT, Secretary General of
EARSC.
The agreement is expected to
create opportunities for stronger Africa–Europe cooperation in space and Earth
observation, with a focus on advancing partnerships and innovation in the
sector.
The collaboration also seeks
to unlock the potential of space technology for sustainable development by
strengthening links between African and European stakeholders in the space and
Earth observation ecosystem.
The agreement marks a step
forward in Africa–Europe space cooperation as both sides pursue opportunities
to expand collaboration in space technology and Earth observation.
